The British tennis star achieved the most important success of his career by coming back from a set down to defeat top-ranked player Carlos Alcaraz in three hard-fought sets in the second round of the Paris Masters.

Even though he had previously overcome Alcaraz on two prior meetings, this win represents Norrie's maiden success over a reigning world number one.

"Bouncing back from injury last year, I fell in the opening stage of qualifiers here. I just sought to embrace my game in the second half of the year. To get a win like this, it's the greatest victory of my career, my maiden triumph over the global number one and arguably the most in-form competitor in the tennis scene right now."

The British player, positioned 31st globally, also ended Alcaraz's supreme sequence of nine finals in a row and 17 straight elite tournament victories, which was the best series of outcomes in the Spanish star's developing professional path.
