Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage includes live text of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on select stations for another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , following last week's talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Striking in those games were the amount of infractions each conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times so they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.
However it proved good to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have the shortfall and then direct three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.
The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that battle.
They had the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending more than four pass rushers instead they could position two LBs in the interior then drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.
At the start of the season, it was noted during a show how the Broncos might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well then did a good job of building upon that.
Could Denver be this season's dark horses?
New TE Evan Engram has excelled big and recent running back their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
I love that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.
This demonstrates that the Broncos represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable situations.
It's also benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.
His assets are his movement, being able to pass on the run, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he displays a lot of composure under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.
If you constantly run the ball it eats up time and makes the opponent to stay in play for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence must defend the field downfield side to side. This proves exhausting.
Nix has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. The coach can truly develop him how he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.
Payton owns a Super Bowl and has passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.
There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're performing above average, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need is to continue this trajectory.
They're really good at embracing their forte, that is the ground game, and that's exactly what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.
Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the division.
It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
