Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the US has yet to issue a statement.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

IRGC Statement

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

Wider Impacts

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

It said debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
