The Renowned Musician Encourages Support to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disappointed if it fails to, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the rendition was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.

The diverse array of artists appearing on Lullaby features a group of acclaimed names from the scene. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a trio of music creators. The song blends a fusion of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The team running the initiative have emphasized that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a representative commented. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the region was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a couple of million is unlikely to make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is above all making this cause better known and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The track is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
