Three Athletes Shortlisted for Young Sports Star Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the annual sports awards show on Thursday, 18 December.
The event will be televised from 19:00 GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Littler's Profile
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
The year started for Littler in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
